    MY STORY My story I'm a passionate Belgian artist, expressing myself through various media such as acrylic, watercolour, pencil and rotring. My art finds its essence in wild animals and portraits, subjects that captivate and inspire me deeply. ​ Each canvas I create is a faithful reflection of my emotions, an inner journey that I share with the world. The world of artistic creation is my gateway to escape and balance, where nothing remains hidden. ​ My history with art began as soon as I could hold a pencil between my fingers. At the age of 10, I produced a series of meticulously detailed portraits of the people around me. At 15, I entered the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, thirsting for new artistic experiences. ​ At the dawn of my 24th year, driven by the need to explore a world that was unknown to me, I flew to Asia, a fascinating land. India, with its dazzling beauty and wealth of colour, broadened my view of the world and left an indelible imprint on my soul. For a year, I explored this enchanting country, leaving behind a vibrant travel diary of drawings and collages. My painting really took off during a trip around the world with my one-and-a-half-year-old daughter. Inspired by the nature and environment around me, I let my brushes dance across the canvas on my return. Artistic experiments were born, mixing different techniques to create unique works. ​ In 2019, I took up the challenge of doing a daily drawing with a rotring for a year, on the theme of Africa, a continent that has always fascinated me. The emotion I felt about each image triggered this creative process, helping me to assert my line, perfect my speed and work on proportions. Each drawing was shared daily on my Instagram account, creating a special bond with my audience. www.instagram.com/marilyn.art.co ​ My artistic journey also led me to collaborate with researchers at the University of Louvain, who offered me three unique pigments obtained through an innovative recycling process. These pigments, in shades of red, black and white, inspired me to depict a woman from the Himba tribe in Namibia. I donated this work to the KULeuven. At the same time, a more graphic series, which I named POP ARTFRICA, was created, adding a new dimension to my portfolio. Today, my artistic vision focuses on the realistic depiction of subjects, mainly animals, through which I wish to convey a message deeply imbued with my emotions. ​ My artistic path has been marked by exhibitions in Brussels, Waterloo and the United Arab Emirates.
