This royal lion expresses strength, respect, courage and self-confidence. I felt many emotions while painting him, positive vibes and a sense of elevation. 
 
The adult male, easily recognizable by his large mane, has an average mass that can vary according to his geographic zone, ranging from 145 to 180 kg for Asian lions to over 225 kg for African lions.
 
It is nicknamed "the king of animals" because its mane gives it an appearance similar to that of the sun, which appears as "the king of stars". 
 
Between 1993 and 2017, its population declined by 43%.
