The Royal Crane is a species of large wading bird in the Gruidae family.
It lives in the dry savannahs of sub-Saharan Africa, but it nests in slightly more humid habitats and is also present in grassy or cultivated areas near lakes or rivers.
 
I wanted this painting to be as realistic as possible, I liked to play with all these shades of color and these contrasts. I like its intense and posed side.
 
I made this work for an exhibition in the United Arab Emirates, It is part of a series on wildlife.
